about
BAD BANANA, BADBAD BANANA!
This is our featured demo track from our upcoming album! Martyr was recorded at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool as a reward for winning the Hunger Games battle of the bands in February 2017, along with two other tracks, Jester and Empire, which are exclusive to our Parr Street Demo Disc.
Dan: "The lyrics to this one were very important to me. The song was written about toxic relationships with others and how those relationships can make you feel ultimately trapped. It was initially a much darker song until, in a finer frame of mind, the conclusion was penned where it exclaims that, despite the difficulty, those relationships and emotions can be overcome. You simply have to accept that you will encounter it again in the future and be prepared for it."
lyrics
Verse 1
You can't see the idiot for the errors,
Shed more blood from myself than a killer,
My speciality's in dealing out those things that aren't enough,
I set myself ablaze for you, then ask the flames to snuff!
Chorus
Self indulge in turmoil, succumb to the hate,
I terrorise myself until, my fear began to tessellate,
With no-one to blame, I was shot down in flames; for no-one have I fought harder,
My heart bleeds out again - for I am the Martyr!
Verse 2
When you see a smile on your face,
Remind me to carve one in mine!
Once upon a time I would bow across the very bones that made me,
For you to hear the sound you want before you disobey me!
Chorus
Self indulge in turmoil, succumb to the hate,
I terrorise myself until, my fear began to tessellate,
With no-one to blame, I was shot down in flames; for no-one have I fought harder,
My heart bleeds out again,
For I am the Martyr...
WHAT!
(Solos)
Final Chorus
Self indulge in turmoil, succumb to the hate,
I terrorise myself until, my fear began to tessellate,
Well, I dragged my way out, and destroyed any doubt; for nothing have I fought harder,
And I will fight again, YEAH!
No longer the Martyr!
